I. From the history of the holiday(Teacher and trained students)
Teacher:There is a day in frosty January, colored with joyful, some spring mood. January 25 is Tatiana Day, Students Day. As history testifies, among the Moscow patronal holidays Tatiana Day – Tatiana and the holiday of students of Moscow University – was special. When asked what relation St. Tatiana has to the students, the clergy answer: “So God gave!”
1st pupil:Tatiana was born in ancient Rome, in a noble family. Her father was a consul. He believed in Christ and raised his daughter in piety, taught the Holy Scripture. The girl had a brilliant marriage and a life of pleasure, but, refusing marriage and amusements, she gave all her strength to the Church.
2nd student:Tatiana prayed and fasted a lot, served the sick and the poor, and helped the Church in her charitable work. At that time, Christians were persecuted in the country. Among other believers, Tatiana was captured. She was severely tortured. In the midst of the torment, she only prayed that God would enlighten her tormentors, and the Lord would hear her prayer.
3rd pupil:Through her prayer, statues of pagan gods were destroyed three times. The tortures to which St. Tatiana was subjected either did not harm her, or during the night their traces disappeared without a trace, or the torturers themselves suffered from blows inflicted by an invisible hand.
4th pupil:Shocked by the staunchness of the saint, her torturers immediately openly turned to faith in Christ, turning from executioners into martyrs for Christ. A hungry lion, released on St. Tatiana in the circus arena, began to caress her, not causing her the slightest harm. Then the frightened persecutors condemned the martyr to be executed with the sword. Her father was also executed with her.
II. Prayer in memory of the martyr Tatiana(the icon has a candle burning)
- And now, in memory of the martyr Tatiana, we say a prayer:
O Holy Martyr Tatiano, receive us now, who pray and fall to your holy icon. Pray for us, servants of God (names), that we may get rid of all sorrows and diseases of the soul and body, and live piety in the present life, and in the coming age, like us with all the saints, worship in the Trinity the glorified God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.
(Children recite poetry)
The bell ringing, the ringing
It's called Blagovest.
Call, my bell, ring.
Call people to you!
Fly, fly the good news,
The temple is open and there is a service.
How elegant in our temple!
Candles everywhere - many, many
I whisper softly to my mother:
"Mama, good for God."
And so do I.
Quickly light the candle!
I'll tiptoe,
I'll put it on myself.
I folded my hands.
I tilted my head,
The father looked with a smile.
And he blessed me.
I ask for your blessings.
Serious study.
I want to be blessed,
To learn ABC.
III. Tatiana Day, Students' Day. From the history of the holiday.
- Why did this day become Student Day? In 1755, the day of the Holy Great Martyr Tatiana received its name in the history of Russian science. On January 12, 1755, on Tatiana Day, Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed the Decree on the Establishment of a University and Two Gymnasiums in Moscow. Initially, this holiday was celebrated only in Moscow, and was celebrated very lavishly. According to eyewitnesses, the annual celebration of Tatiana Day was a real event for Moscow. It consisted of two parts: a short official ceremony in the university building and a noisy festivities, in which almost the entire capital took part. Thus, by the will of the monarch, a student holiday appeared - Tatiana Day and Students Day. In the late 1790s, the construction of a special building for the university on Mokhovaya Street was completed, in which its own church was equipped in the name of the martyr Tatiana. On Tatiana day in the temple there are services.

Old, humpbacked,
Lying by the hut.

Carrot nose, broom hand,
Afraid of sun and heat?
