The formation and development of personality occurs throughout a person’s life, but this process is especially clearly traced in childhood and adolescence. It is at this time that many factors are laid that will serve as a guideline for the further development of the human personality. Each person, in the process of realizing himself as a person, performs his social role. And here it is important that its social role does not come into conflict with society, does not introduce destructive elements into society, elements of destruction.
The process of socialization begins with the birth of a child and lasts the whole life of a person. This happens in the process of upbringing, education and self-education, when a person independently determines goals for himself and achieves them, when, realizing his self-esteem, he is confident in his position in society. Socialization of a person is his language and behavior in everyday life, ability to creativity, perception of the culture of his people, etc. The formation of personality occurs in the knowledge of the environment, good and evil, what will have to face in later life.
Socialization of the individual is a contradictory process. On the one hand, it involves the adaptation of man to society, and on the other - the separation (alienation) of man from society. In the context of the sweeping changes that are taking place in our society, the balance between adaptation and alienation, which involves successful socialization, is disturbed. Radical changes in various spheres of life have led to a change in the functions and relative importance of various institutions of socialization, the disappearance of some of them (for example, there were no All-Union children’s and youth organizations) and the emergence of new ones (for example, Boy Scout organizations). Adaptation of the personality of a particularly young person in a society of constant changes is difficult, a person does not keep up with the rapid course of events. The scope of maladjustment is expanding. Young people are forced to focus on individual, albeit important, life prospects; life values are changing.
Socialization is considered as a process that ensures the inclusion of a person in a particular social group or community. The formation of a person as a representative of this group, i.e. the carrier of its values, norms, attitudes, orientations, etc., presupposes the development of the necessary properties and abilities in him.
Socialization, education of the younger generation are considered in unity with the laws of social reality, with the logic of the functioning and development of Russian society. The profound changes taking place in society have affected all spheres of his life, including the system of education, upbringing and socialization. Practice convinces that the transfer of socialization and personal education to a new state is a complex and controversial problem.
Principles of education in its diversity can cover the whole life of children and teachers along with pedagogical influence and interaction. In life, there is also the assistance of children to teachers, and opposition, and resistance to them, and non-resistance to authorities, and alienation from them. The consciousness of the child is formed gradually, in the process of life and above all by the means of life itself. Therefore, the teacher, in order to achieve a positive result in education, needs not only the principles of direct influence, but also indirect, indirect, long-term action on consciousness and habitual behavior by purposeful and spiritual saturation of all areas of children's life. The teacher should take into account the assistance of the children themselves to his efforts, when the pupils overcome resistance and conscious opposition to educational measures, strive for active assimilation and acquisition of spiritual values.
In this regard, it is important to study the role of education in the socialization of the student’s personality.
