Hello, dear children and respected adults!
Who knows what holiday is celebrated in Russia today?
Today is July 8th. This day in 2008 was declared the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty in Russia, and since then it has been celebrated annually. How many years have we been celebrating this holiday? .
What a beautiful name of the holiday - Day of family, love and loyalty.
Probably, now each of you knows about Valentine’s Day – Valentine’s Day, so popular among young people holiday. However, Valentine’s Day is a Catholic holiday that came to us from the West. But we, in Russia, have our own saints – patrons of lovers, marriage and family happiness.
Who knows who these saints are?
This is Peter and Fevronia.
The memory of these saints is dedicated to this holiday.
Does anyone know why this holiday is associated with the names of these saints – the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty?
So who are Peter and Fevronia?
I'll tell you a legend...
Long ago – in the 13th century – two brothers lived in the glorious city of Murom – Princes Paul and Peter. Paul's in trouble. He started flying snakes to his wife. She complained to her husband. How do you get rid of a snake? Paul told his wife to find out the secret of his death. The serpent said that only Peter could defeat him. And, of course, Peter stood up for the honor of his brother's wife. In battle with the snake, he won. But the serpent, dying, sprinkled Peter with his poisonous blood, and Peter became seriously ill with leprosy. His whole body was covered with sores and scabs. No doctor could help him or heal him from a serious illness.
And then Peter went to the Ryazan land, which was famous for skillful healers and healers. Fevronia – a simple girl, the daughter of a tree climber (a collector of wild honey) – undertook to heal the prince, but with one condition: he must take her as his wife. Peter accepted this condition and received from Fevronia a healing ointment, which was to anoint all ulcers on his body. The prince did so - the illness left him, but he did not keep his promises, as he was embarrassed by the low origin of Fevronia. He went to Moore by himself.
He soon became ill again, even more seriously. The prince realized that this was God’s punishment for his refusal to marry Fevronia. He said to his relatives, “There is no rich man, no poor man, no prince, no servant, no stink, no boyar.” Take me to Fevronia.
Having taken, as for the first time, a healing bath and lubricating all the sores on the body with healing ointment, Peter immediately went on the mend. He came out of the bath with his own feet, and a stately, beautiful girl with a long braid and affectionate loving eyes came out to meet him. Peter took her by the white hands and did not want to let them out, and all admired his betrothed. They got married, and the whole principality of Murom walked at the wedding.
However, the noble Murom boyars did not want to see a "male" daughter as their princess, they were offended by the fact that "she did not become a princess by her kind." They began to murmur and resent that Peter trusted his wife in everything. They openly declared their claims to the shocked prince, and Fevronia said the following: "Take whatever wealth you want and leave us."
Wise Fevronia took away her greatest wealth, her wife. Peter would rather give up power than love. They sailed together on the river Oke on a boat.
And in Murom began bloody feuds, in the struggle for the princely throne, many of the boyars were killed. The boyars came to their senses, realized what a mistake they had made, succumbing to selfishness and meanness, went bowing to their legitimate ruler Peter and his wife. Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia returned to Murom, lived and ruled. The reign of the spouses was the happiest and most prosperous for the Murom principality.
And when they grew old, they became monks: Peter took the name of David, Fevronia - Ephrosyne. They bequeathed themselves to be buried together in a specially prepared coffin with a thin partition in the middle.
They died on the same day and hour on June 25 of the old style (July 8 of the new style) of 1228, each in his own cell, but were buried in different coffins, because people considered it impious to bury monks in one coffin and dared to violate the will of the dead. But in the morning, the bodies of the couple miraculously appeared in one coffin, as they bequeathed. Once again, their bodies were scattered to different temples, and again they miraculously found themselves nearby the next morning. Everyone knew it was God’s will. And no one else dared to separate Peter and Fevronia. They were buried in Murom at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God.
And in 1552 Peter and Fevronia were canonized by the Church, that is, they were listed as saints, and the day of July 8 was considered the day of their memory.
Now their miraculous relics are kept in the Church of the Holy Trinity of the Holy Trinity convent in Murom. These are some of the most revered saints not only in Murom itself, but throughout Russia.
And those people who have problems in family life, problems with the birth of children, come to their relics to bow and ask for help.
Peter and Fevronia are patrons of newlyweds, young families, and the power of love and loyalty of Peter and Fevronia serve as a model of family relations.
Yeah, it's not easy for one person to live. You know that the greatest wealth in everyone’s life is their family. Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy said, “Happy is he who is happy at home.”
No wonder in Russia there are so many proverbs and sayings about the family.
What do you know? .
And I know these:
Family in a pile is not scary and cloudy.
There is no need for treasure when the family is in harmony.
When the family is together and the heart is in place.
Where there is love and advice, there is no grief.
If it's close, it's better together.
Nice heaven and a hut.
Soul in soul.
The day of family, love and loyalty is a good, bright holiday.
Let’s smile at each other and get to know each other better. So here's the task for you: if we give our neighbor this heart, we'll say our name and compare ourselves to some flower or bird. For example,
The symbol of the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty was one flower.
It's called the yellow-eyed flower.
They plucked a flower, they guess the petals.
It's chamomile. Why do you think?
Chamomile is the flower of Russian fields and meadows. And besides, chamomile is most directly related to love. Who knows how? On the chamomile guess – “loves – does not love”.
What bird in Russia was considered a symbol of loyalty? It's a swan. (Hint – “loyalty” – what?) Swan!
They get to know each other just as we humans do, in person. A swan will not confuse his wife with anyone! The swan family is never separated: they swim together, get food, build a nest, raise children, fly to distant warm countries.
And the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty has a wonderful motto: “Love and cherish”.
And now we invite each of you to make a drawing on the theme of the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty. It can be symbols of the holiday – chamomile or swans, or it can be a drawing depicting your family.
