Purpose:the development of cognitive interest, the intellect of students, the expansion of knowledge and the education of the desire for their continuous improvement, the formation of a sense of solidarity and healthy competition.

Progress of the game

Today you are going to the math game Star Hour. All the questions that will be asked are related to mathematics. We will try to prove that mathematics is not for nothing called the “Queen of Sciences”, that it is more than any other science inherent beauty, harmony, elegance and accuracy.
Introducing the players:
Let's welcome them!
All participants of the game are represented, now I will introduce you to its rules.

Rules of the game

  • For each correct answer, the player receives 1 point.
  • If the player answers the question, they get a star. In our game, it will be a geometric figure.
  • 5 seconds are given to think about each question.
  • After each round, and there are four of them, one of the players who scored the least points will be eliminated.
  • In the super game will fight two players who reached the final.

The scores will be counted...
Go ahead, play and win!

I round Geometrical figures

On the board drawings: rectangle, square, beam, angle, triangle, straight (under numbers)

geometrical

Questions:

  • A figure with all angles straight and two pairs of equal sides?
  • What shape will you get if you draw two beams from one point?
  • What is the name of a rectangle with sides of the same length?
  • What has a beginning but no end?
  • What has no length, no width, no height, but it can be measured?
  • What shape will you get if you continue the segment in both directions?

Round II Great Mathematicians

The history of mathematics goes back to ancient times. For many centuries of existence, mathematics was created by people whose names we remember today. Here are portraits of great scientists.

mathematicians

Questions:

  • Which of these scholars helped defend their city of Syracuse from the Romans and died? Legend has it that when a Roman brought a sword over a scientist, he did not ask for mercy, but only exclaimed: “Do not touch my drawings!” At the moment of death, the scientist solved a geometric problem. (Archimedes)
  • There are more than 150 ways to prove this theorem. But for the ancient schoolmasters it was not easy, so they called it “windmill”, “donkey bridge”, and even “the flight of the poor”. Which mathematician is this theorem named? (Pythagoras)
  • Musketeer. A man of wide creative interests. He obtained profound results in philosophy, mathematics, physics, biology, medicine. In mathematics, he is known for introducing a rectangular coordinate system. Who are we talking about? (R. Descartes)
  • The great mathematician of all time, who managed to summarize and systematize all known mathematical facts in a unique book "Elements". All that is known about him is “the son of Naukritus, the son of Zekarch, known under the name of Geometra”, an ancient scholar, a Greek by birth, a Syrian by residence, originally from Tyri. Name this mathematician? (Euclid)
  • What is the name of the first Russian female mathematician? (Kovalevskaya)
  • Which of these scientists participated in athletic competitions and at the Olympic Games was crowned twice with a laurel wreath for winning a fist fight? (Pythagoras)

Round III Is that a lot?

On the number board: 1, 100, 1000, 10,000, 100,000, 1000000

Questions:

  • How many times 1 km longer than 1 cm? (100,000)
  • How many cubic meters in 1 cubic meters? (1,000,000)
  • How many km in 1,000,000 mm? (1)
  • How many square meters in 1 hectare? (10,000)
  • How many liters in 1 cubic meter (1000)
  • How many times 1 hectare is more than 1 sq.m (100)

Playing with the audience

Viewers take turns calling proverbs with numbers, the one who names more wins.

IV round Old measures

On the plaque board: pood, inch, dozen, elbow, mile, verst

antiques

{module Google_kvadrat}

Questions:

  • What is the name of a measure of length equal to the length of the arm from the elbow bend to the tip of the middle finger?
  • Distance between thumb and index finger? (inch = 25mm)
  • Old Russian weight measure equal to 16 kg? (pood)
  • Nautical measure of length. (Mile)
  • What measure was measured in Russia the distance between cities?
  • Some types of goods: table knives, forks, playing cards, feathers, pens, pencils, sold a score of 12 pieces. What's that magnitude called?

IV round of the grammar

This is a grammar box. My assistant is about to get a letter cube out of him. (P, K, T, D). In 1 minute, you should write as many mathematical terms as possible starting with this letter.

Who's bigger?

From the word “arithmetic” you need to make as many words as possible. Each letter is allowed to be used as many times as it occurs in this word, i.e. the letters "a" and "and" - twice, and the rest - one. Whoever speaks the last word will win. It takes 2 minutes to complete the task. Time has gone...
